The area of southern Alberta consists of forests, fields, grassland, and mountains to the west. The westerly forests are very beautiful, most of the trees are evergreens, poplars, and rarely, lodge pole pines. The fields can be very different, but most of them are hay fields, although others may be, barley, wheat, or conola. The mountains are, in my opinion, the most spectacular sights to see. They are notably tall and like any good mountain, the tops are usually covered with snow. My favorite time in Alberta is winter, because there is so much snow, and if it is the right kind, you can make pretty much anything with it! The summer is enjoyable as well, because there is literally no end to the things you can do, but my favorites are fishing, swimming, carving, hiking, and having campfires. Most of the population in this area lives in cities, but my home is in the country and I am thankful to have such a fantastic place to live.
