Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo

Leonardo da Vinci was an extremely famous man during the Renaissance. He was born on April 15, 1452 in Florence Italy, when he was twenty years old, Leonardo was a master in the Guild of St. Luke. He had many fantastic skills such as inventing, painting, sculpting, science, architecture, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, writing, history, and cartography. With all of these skills you can imagine that he was an extraordinary wise and useful man, but he is most famous for his painting. The first piece of art he drew was a picture of the Arno Valley. Over time he became an amazing painter and sketcher and he did several beautiful pieces such as The Last Supper, The Vitruvian Man, The Lady With an Ermine, and the greatest of all the Mona Lisa. Leonardo da Vinci is remembered for all of the things he knew but mostly as a Master painter. Although he did work on many other projects, they were probably mathematical or architectural. Leonardo died on May 2, 1519, but he is remembered as one of the most famous men in the Renaissance.
Michelangelo was another extraordinary artist in the Renaissance. Born on March 6, 1475, Michelangelo was the producer of many unique pieces of beautiful art, some notable ones are the marble statue of David, the Last Judgment, and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. At this time Leonardo Da Vinci was competing with Michelangelo but it ended inconclusively , those two and a third artist named Raphael make up the “trinity of the great masters of the Renaissance”. Michelangelo died on February 18, 1564, he lived to be 89 years old and is remembered as having an amazing gift of painting and sculpting, and is considered by some to be the preeminent artist of the Renaissance.
