For Christmas last year I received an SJCAM for filming
recreational activities. It is similar to the very popular Gopro, but the SJCAM
is not as expensive. I had wanted a compact camera for a while and I think that
the SJCAM is just what I am looking for, as it is about two inches long and one
and a half inches wide. The one problem with this model is that the external
microphone is very small, meaning that the audio is not the best, which was
confirmed by a testing, but fortunately, the company that makes SJCAM also
makes an attachable USB cord microphone. Another thing I like about the SJ is
the ultimate simplicity of its system, on the entire camera there are only
three buttons and it is relatively easy to understand once you know how. On the
side of the camera, there is a thin opening where you can put a memory chip, I
am using a Sandisc chip which holds a good bit of memory. The footage that this
camera gives is, relatively, second to none, as it is a solid 4k picture. In
addition to the quality of this equipment, it comes with a load of accessories,
there is a waterproof case, an optional touch screen, a bike mount, a helmet
mount, and a lens cover. The SJCAM is a great asset to have, I look forward to
taking more video with it and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is
interested in compact high quality video equipment.
