My Favorite Animal

My favorite animals in the whole world are chameleons, as they have so many unique traits.
Most of you probably know, that chameleons use their long tongues to snatch prey, but what you might not know is that their tongues travel at the incredible speed of 1 meter per second!
Chameleons can also change the color of their skin, which is excellent for camouflage, and the color of the chameleon’s skin also indicates the mood that it is in.
Chameleons have long tails, and one of the purposes of this is so that the chameleon does not fall when it lunges for food.
Chameleons have another fantastic attribute which is their independent eyes that make it much easier to spot prey, their eyes can see in any direction so that they don’t need to move to see their surroundings.
There are many different species of chameleons such as the Jackson's Chameleon, Long-nosed Chameleon, Pygmy Chameleon, Cape Dwarf Chameleon, Namaqua Chameleon, Malagasy Giant Chameleon, Common Chameleon and others. The one I like the most is the Panther Chameleon, because they are one of the heartiest types and they deal with stressful environments better than most.
Chameleons are very hard to have as pets, because they are extremely sensitive and they do not do well under stress. I like them in the wild but I still think that they are a very fascinating and fantastic animal, and that is why they are my favorite.
