Kublai Khan

Kublai Khan was the grandson of Genghis Khan, the great Mongolian leader from the spring of 1206 until August 18, 1227. Kublai Khan was helping his brother, who was the current leader of the Mongols, but after his brother died he became the new ruler. Kublai was fair to those he conquered, and he even let them keep their government, as long as they followed his laws, which earned him the name “The Wise Khan”. This was much different from how his Grandfather did things. When Genghis took over an area he was harsh and cruel to the people there and he would destroy their government. Kublai Khan’s greatest achievement was uniting China, and he even founded the Yuan Dynasty. After his death Kublai Khan was buried in the Mongolian burial site. He died from old age, various illnesses, and being overweight, however, he outlived his wife and son. In the hands of Kublai Khan, the empire was expanded to its peak and during his reign there was prosperity in his empire
